Our Curriculum

Learning Tribe groups are specifically designed to support, nurture and develop all our children. Our classes are mostly organised in order of age to ensure that each of our children receive appropriate teaching and play. The Learning Tribe pedagogical framework encompasses six areas of education and our pedagogical approach is bilingual and playful.

  1. Bilingual communication and language
  2. Social and emotional development
  3. Expressive arts (performance, music and crafts)
  4. Pre-mathematical experimentation
  5. Physical development
  6. Understanding the world

Each class is exposed to German and English. Our teachers work collaboratively in delivering engaging learning activities, that encourage building a child’s vocabulary using a play-based curriculum model. Our bilingual program is tailor-made using elements of the Reggio Emilia approach, the Early Years Curriculum and Lehrplan 21.

Play

Free play: Our goal is to create ‘thinkers & doers’ in which a child’s natural curiosity and eagerness to explore and create is encouraged. Our teachers encourage children to use their imagination, express their emotions and build on greater independence.

Guided activities: We use a multi-sensory bilingual curriculum, alongside the cantonal guidelines to teach and set up a variety of guided activities for the children to participate in.
